What Chemicals Should You Add to Your New Hot Tub?

This is to ensure that all the parts of your hot tub are adequately disinfected. The chlorine levels in the water should ideally be 3 to 5 ppm.

If you don’t want to mix chlorine in your hot tub, you may choose bromine instead.  One advantage of using bromine is that, unlike chlorine, it doesn’t give off a chemical smell. For bromine, you should maintain a level of 3 to 5 ppm in the water. You can use liquid bromine or bromine tablets, just make sure that you use the amounts recommended by your hot tub’s manufacturer.
